Club
DJ Sloppy Droppy, resident. He remixes the workshop’s songs and programs every light in the room to them.
Six remixes, six light shows. Each show is one text file, the way a lighting desk keeps its cues: open it, change it, share it.
Tonight’s set
Press play: the lights follow the music.
No light here flashes more than three times a second: every show is checked frame by frame before it plays, and the club refuses one that would (WCAG 2.3.1). With reduced motion on, or Calm lights ticked, strobes stop and chases become slow fades.
Program your own
A show is a text file in sections: [rig] for the fixtures and where they hang, [palette] for colours and positions, [cues] for what happens at which bar, and [chase], [fx] and [video] for the moving parts. Times are bars and beats of the song, or its sections by name: drop, breakdown+8.
Every fixture is patched into a virtual DMX universe, as a real rig would be: the 2D view shows the channel values as they change. The editor shows the room as you type, checks every line, and makes a link to share; nothing is stored anywhere. The format has every word, and there is a skill file for agents that write shows.
About
The music is the workshop’s own: songs from Tinny, remixed from their notes into club tempos and played by your browser, note by note. Nothing here is a recording and nothing is anybody else’s. The remixes are also in Tinny, in the Club list.
Who DJ Sloppy Droppy is, and where the Neon Void is, is in the codex, proposed and waiting for approval. He is made by machines, like everything else on slopped.site, and is fine with it.
